Berlin B. Funk Sr., 94, of Crozet, passed away on August 8, 2017.



Berlin was born on February 6, 1923, in West Virginia, to the late Paul Perry and Annie Rebecca Combs Funk.



He was a World War II veteran, serving in the Army Air Corp, and flew on B24's Box Bombers. Berlin worked as a tool and die maker, retiring from Comdial in 1987.



In addition to his parents, Berlin was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Fox Funk; five brothers, one sister, one son-in-law, one grandson, and one great-granddaughter.

Berlin is survived by two daughters, Betty Layne (Davis) and Fay Baber; one son, Berlin B. Funk Jr.; sister, Mary Funk Peery; two sisters-in-law, nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren.



Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the Crozet Volunteer Fire Department, or the Western Albemarle Rescue Squad.
